The Mandurah Ocean Marina is providing Mandurah
and the Peel Region with a world-class marina facility. Mandurah Ocean
Marina is the ideal aquatic playground offering the coveted lifestyle associated
with glorious beaches, fine fishing and abundant water sports. |

The
Marina is being
developed by
LandCorp – the
State Government’s
land development
agency – and is
managed by the City
of Mandurah. The
State Government is
providing $58
million for the
Marina’s
infrastructure.
Curtin University’s
Institute for
Research into
International
Competitiveness is
expected to create
more than 600 full
time jobs and
generate about
$900million in
economic activity
(in 2002 dollars) in
the Peel region,
over a 20-year
timeframe. |

The Marina is fast becoming a tourism icon for
Mandurah and the greater Peel Region and has already demonstrated significant
economic and community benefits. It provides facilities for both professional
and recreational fishing and boating enthusiasts, and will ultimately include a
mix of marine, tourist, retail and residential developments |

A significant portion of land in the Marina has
been dedicated to public open space, including foreshore areas, boardwalks,
headland viewing points, landscaped streets and piazzas. |

Also underway in the North Harbour is
construction of the Seashells Resort Mandurah. The 4.5-star resort is due to
open in early 2005 and will feature tourism units, commercial units and
residential penthouses and villas |

Dolphin Quay brings to the North Harbour a
colourful mix of waterfront market stalls, shops, cafes and restaurants. |

The pedestrian footbridge, which connects the
North and South Harbours and provides a direct link to Mandurah's city and
