Located just south of Mandurah and set amidst beautiful palm trees Indian Summer Restaurant invites you to indulge your senses in our exotic Indian cuisine. Indian "Tandoori" cooking is a subtle method of barbequing. It is also healthier than other methods of cooking as it requires less oil or fat. This is why it has remained the favourite cooking technique of gourmet chef's for centuries. The "Tandoor" is the traditional oven of North India. Made of clay and shaped like a beehive, it is heated by charcoal or wood. Meat is cooked on skewers while breads are simply stuck to the oven walls till baked. The Tandoor cooks by combining two heat sources - the direct heat of the embers and the reflected heat from the thick clay walls. The intense heat cooks meat very quickly and seals in the juices, producing a distinctive flavour and succulence.
