Boddington |
 |
| Just
50 minutes drive south east of Mandurah, you find the mining
and agriculture town of Boddington which was settled in the
1860s. Nestled on the banks of the Hotham River Boddington is great for day
trips. It hosts a
farming and mining industry ranging from sheep and Cattle,
cereal crops, Marron farming with Gold & Bauxite mining on
the towns outskirts. Canoeing, fishing, bush walking,
picnicking and bird watching are favourite things to do for
locals and visitors alike. |

Attractions
Go Canoeing
- If you like canoeing there are rivers
around Boddington to suit all grades. The Bannister River is great for
beginners and the Hotham and Murray rivers are excellent for people with
intermediate to advanced skills.
Go for a Sunday
drive... Well any day really.
A series of five tours around the district have been created for
your driving pleasure. These tours include a 35 km drive to Tullis
Bridge, the site of a timber mill and trestle bridge which is now an
excellent picnic spot. There is also the Marradong, Quindanning and
Lower Hotham 90 km drive which visits the remnants of Marradong and
the Worsley Bauxite Mining Project, the picturesque Mooradung
Circuit (45 km), Camballing Capers (35 km through pleasant forested
areas) and the Tumlo and Long Gully Bridge route (90 km) which
passes through forests and includes the Long Gully trestle bridge.
With nearly half the district of Boddington being taken up with
forests it is natural that places to hike, picnic and search for
wildflowers are in abundance.
